Night Nurse Position in Linköping Municipality

The position is located within the Health and Care Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. Your Responsibilities

Working as a night nurse is an independent job. During the night, you have several scheduled visits that are recurring. At the beginning and end of your shift, you have some standing cases. The job also involves advising nursing staff during the night through incoming calls. Typically, the calls concern falls, deteriorating general condition, pain, and questions about medication. If necessary, you will go to the patient for an assessment.

In your work, you will use various types of medical technical equipment, manage medications and infusions. You will thus make independent assessments and prioritize your work based on incoming cases. You are also responsible for delegating the night staff of home care.

Your Workplace

You will start from Ålerydsvägen 5 and travel for cases around Linköping Municipality. The night service receives all patients within the municipal health care organization. This includes patients from nursing homes, home health care, within LSS, and social psychiatry. Therefore, you will meet patients in their own homes as well as in our various residences in Linköping Municipality. Mainly, you will meet patients within elderly care.

We have a total of 5 night nurses in the workgroup, and each night 2 nurses work. Currently, we travel together for most cases, but this may be adjusted depending on the number of cases at night.

Your working hours are either scheduled from 20:30 - 7:45 or from 21:00 - 8:15. During a 12-week period, you will work 34 nights.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a licensed nurse who has previous experience working as a nurse. We consider it a merit if you have experience working as a nurse in support, care, and assistance. Previous experience of night work as a nurse is desirable. We also see it as a merit if you have experience with telephone assessments in your role as a nurse. It is also advantageous if you have previous experience working with medical technical equipment, such as CVK, CAD, and peg.

As the job involves documentation and contact with patients and relatives, it is a requirement that you have good knowledge of Swedish, both written and spoken. You need to have good computer skills as we work in various systems. You also need to have a B driver's license for manual transmission.

As a person, you work well with others, listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner. Furthermore, you have the ability to lead work and understand how individuals absorb knowledge, and can therefore adapt how you convey information to achieve common goals.

In your work, you can plan, organize, and prioritize your work and have an easy time adapting to changing circumstances. You make correct assessments and have the ability to weigh complex information and different considerations.
